Giuseppe Tarantino was born in Altamura (BA) in 1969. Upon completing his studies in 1990 he attained his diploma in Graphic Arts from the Istituto Tecnico Statale G.B.Bodoni in Turin, where his family had set up home some years earlier. But his “road to Damascus” was in Paris. A sudden intuition before the abstract art of Kandinsky, Klee and Mondrian ignited a passion for art within him and was to influence his future research, aimed not at traditional methods of expression, still focused on suggestions of a naturalistic matrix, but at non-objectivity, non-shape, towards the idea, the emotion and the discovery of his inner self. He has a complex personality which unites with the memory of his homeland and of his past, the angst caused by an uncertain future.
